I love this for you and am so excited for where it'll take you :))
I feel really similar to you about sharing your art and work publicly and having it become an "obligation," so I keep my work lowkey. I really respect you doing this for yourself.
and can't wait to learn more about you on a personal and intimate level. There's something so honest and beautiful about words and blogs in this era. It takes me back to the age of pen palling and sent letters. Deborah remember to always be honest to yourself and your heart :D and take this at your own pace! This is not meant to be an obligation just a space for your heart to visit and write out when you feel the need :)
i saw someone i follow post about a substack update a couple days ago, but i had gotten swept away moments later by something else on my feed and it escaped my mind. now i’m in bed, sick and worrying about missing schooldays, and i remembered seeing that post. so i headed over to substack and was so excited to see it was you :)
as someone who is constantly doubting herself and struggling through high school, your words always make me feel a bit more grounded. that might be weird or scary to hear, knowing that you’re approaching an uncertain, major turning point in your life and might not be feeling so grounded yourself, but it’s true!
i’m looking forward to this new platform where you can rest your feet every once in a while and freely share your thoughts without the pressure of monetization or an overwhelming audience.
lots of love deborah! hope you’re staying healthy as we transition into a beautiful spring <3
